Every year, Buddy Dive Resort teams up with Buddy Dive Tek for the most significant technical diving event in the Caribbean. BonaireTeK at Buddy Dive is an exciting week of technical dive demonstrations, presentations, and training! During THE event for tec divers, we offer demos and tryouts with the newest equipment, presentations from renowned names in the industry, and many tec dives. The 2024 program includes yoga sessions, a lionfish hunter course, and a beach BBQ. We´ll host guest speakers from several agencies and equipment suppliers. This year Buddy Dive proudly hosts event sponsors Dive Rite,  DAN, and Silent Diving!

We thrive on bringing together tec divers from all over the world, creating a community, and initiating new partnerships. Bonaire Tek guests will experience fantastic deep dives like a dive on the deep wreck of “The Windjammer”.

Emmanuel Dugrenot – Senior Researcher
DAN

After completing a master’s degree in molecular biology, Dr. Dugrenot worked as a dive instructor, specializing in technical and rebreather diving and earning an instructor trainer certification. Around that time he also created and ran a company to develop improved decompression procedures, working with engineers, mathematicians, and biologists. After working full-time in the dive industry for a few years, Dr. Dugrenot completed a PhD in Physiology at the University of Western Brittany (France) on genetic resistance to decompression sickness. It was only natural that he joined DAN in November 2022 to continue working on divers’ safety. Dr. Dugrenot is also a visiting researcher in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and at the ORPHY laboratory at the University of Western Brittany.”

Justin Judd
Dive Rite

Justin began diving at 10 years old in Southern California and was instantly addicted. Growing up he loved discovering the history behind the wrecks that he was diving and gave him the idea to pursue diving as a full-time career. As he grew up, he realized all the amazing places he could visit and the people he would get to meet. He went full on with his idea and moved to North Florida in 2021 to work for Dive Rite. His current favorite dive is the HMHS Britannic. Justin is an active rebreather instructor and currently working on his NSS-CDS apprentice instructor rating.

Silent Diving

Buddy Dive Resort is proud to add Silent Diving to our Sponsor list. Silent Diving will join Bonaire TeK and Operation CCR 2024 to share their over 20 years of experience with Operation CCR guests! Silent Diving has been a distributor of AP Diving rebreathers and products! They are the distributors for Inspiration, Evolution Closed Circuit Rebreathers, and all Ambient Pressure Diving LTD units. The Silent Diving team brings world-class customer care and a deeply held passion for helping to create the most innovative, boundary-breaking diving experiences imaginable.

Ken Head

Ken is a Bonaire TeK veteran who has been with us for many years. Ken Head is a NAUI Technical Instructor with a passion for technical diving.
His tec diving resume includes certifications in Overhead Environment, Helium-based Diving below 100 meters, Closed Circuit Rebreather Diving, developing a Technical Dive Community and creating a Scuba Training and Travel Business named Extreme Scuba.
Ken’s presentation “Creating a Technical Dive Team and Utilizing the Scuba Industry for Support” can count on many visitors from Bonaire Tek guests, Buddy Dive Resort guests and Bonaire tec divers.
